1950's Model 27-A Vintage 5 Cent VMC Coke Machine No Restoration

This machine was owned by my parents and they bought it when it was 23 years old, in 1975.  They moved from Atlanta and it was stored in my basement...for 28 years!  In time it became hidden behind boxes and I had forgotten about it.  Last week, cleaning out the basement, I re-discover it and dug it out.  I was excited to find it in good shape and so thankful that I have a very dry basement.  The condition is fair/average, but looking at other machines this age (or younger), I would have to up that assessment to good condition...just by comparison.
My parents kept this machine close to the pool and it had one nickel in the coin box.  Every time we wanted a drink, we would open the box and dig the nickel out and have a Coke.  That one nickel bought ever drink that was ever put into that machine (nickel not included).  The temperature was so cold that it was like tiny little ice crystals in that small bottled Coke.  It would bring tears to your eyes on a hot day.  When they moved, and the machine was placed into my basement, it was still operational.
I have not tested it because the electrical cord is cracked in places and it did not look as safe as I would like (to use my own hands to plug it in).  However, I do have someone coming, in the next few weeks, to replace the cord and examine the wiring/electrical components.  If the refrigeration unit cranks back up, as I think that it will, it will be charged and loaded with some drinks.  I want to use it to make sure it is operational.  I will update this listing after the machine has be checked out.
If you are looking for a great old Coke machine to use "as is" or restore, this would be the one to have.  It has been kept out of the weather and owned by the same family for the last 46 years of it's 69 years.
